Who is Dr. Mohamed Wael Ragab?

Professor Mohamed Wael Ragab is considered one of the leading physicians who has specialized exclusively for 16 years in male infertility, azoospermia (absence of sperm in semen), and delicate microsurgical procedures to treat delayed childbearing in men.
His journey began with earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with honors (Excellent with distinction) from the prestigious Cairo University, followed by appointment at the university in the Department of Andrology and Male Surgery.
He then obtained his Master’s degree with honors (Excellent) after a scientific, surgical, and academic journey within the department.
After that, he completed a fellowship at the University of Münster in Germany, which is considered the largest European center for treating infertility and azoospermia in Europe, after achieving first place among applicants for the European Academy of Andrology scholarship.

• During this period, Professor Mohamed Wael Ragab combined surgical and scientific expertise from both the West and the East, forming an independent school and philosophy in treating cases of Azoospermia.

• He also performed microsurgical varicocele procedures, and this stage was documented by publishing the first joint Egyptian-German research in the field of azoospermia in semen in cases of undescended testes and azoospermia.

• During this time, Dr. Mohamed Wael Ragab was selected as the only physician from the Arab world and the Middle East to participate in writing the medical and surgical reference on andrology, Endocrinology of the Testis and Male Reproduction, published by the German publisher Springer.

After this stage, Dr. Mohamed Wael Ragab preferred to return to Egypt and continue his journey there rather than remain in Germany.

• His academic journey was completed by obtaining his PhD, and years later he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor.

During this period, he co-founded Dar Al Nokhba Center for Fertility and Andrology with Dr. Walid Hamed, who is considered one of the pioneers in Egypt and the Middle East in ICSI.
The goal of establishing the center was to bring together an elite team working in andrology, fertility, and ICSI under one roof, while providing the latest medical devices and innovative technologies to treat delayed childbearing in couples, with a special focus on sperm problems—especially the absence of sperm in semen
Azoospermia.
Within a few years, Dar Al Nokhba Center for Fertility and Andrology took the lead, not only across Egypt, but also gained followers throughout the Middle East and the world.

Dr. Mohamed Wael Ragab, through a long history of highly specialized practice in this field, and with the most precise German surgical microscopes Carl Zeiss,

has achieved a success rate considered the highest in the Middle East—not only in microscopic sperm search, but also in achieving pregnancy using sperm.

Professor Mohamed Wael Ragab is considered a pioneer of artificial intelligence in sperm search with microscopic examination SpermSearchAI 

and was among the first to use it in the Arab world and the Middle East, and celebrated with the Dar Al Nokhba team achieving more than 500 successful cases using AI-assisted microscopic examination—becoming the first in the world to reach this number.

• This leadership was crowned by his invitation to Italy to deliver a lecture on artificial intelligence and azoospermia in semen at the European Congress of Andrology, representing Egypt and the Arab world at this major event.
